Can I install apps on the watch?
Yes, additional apps can be downloaded from the Google Play Store regardless of whether it is paired with an iPhone or an Android phone. Personalise your Montblanc Summit 2 experience with additional apps whether it is for messaging, travel, productivity or to improve your golf swing.
Can I reply to messages e.g. emails or third party messaging apps directly on Montblanc Summit 2?
Yes, Android phone users can reply to messages or emails directly from the watch by using voice, Smart Reply, handwriting or the keyboard.
iPhone users can only receive and read notifications from third-party messaging apps, and respond to selected apps such as Gmail and Telegram.
Battery
How long does the battery last on Montblanc Summit 2?
The battery is optimized to deliver a full day of normal usage. It usually takes two hours to charge Montblanc Summit 2.
My battery drains too fast
In the settings, you can turn off the always-on and tilt-to-wake functions to elongate the overall battery life.
There are multiple solutions to prevent rapid battery-drain.
The brighter your watch screen, the higher the battery drain. Therefore, adjusting your screen brightness will elongate battery life.
Some third-party watch faces, especially those with animations or interactive abilities, use up more battery life than others. If you recently installed an app or a watch face and notice that your battery is draining faster than usual, try uninstalling that app or watch face.

My battery is not charging. What could be the problem?
One reason might be that the contact between the charging cradle and the watch is disrupted. Lift the watch and place it again onto the charger. Make sure that the pad on the watch is correctly aligned with the pins on the charger. Please also see the Quick Start Guide for an illustration of how to charge your Montblanc Summit 2.
Another reason might be that if you are charging via USB, your computer might not provide enough power for that outlet. Instead, try charging it with a wall charger.
Also, make sure that the charging pins on the watch and cradle/dock are clean. You can wipe them with a slightly damp soft cloth.
Finally, check if there is any dust in the micro USB port. Blow on the port gently to remove any dust or dirt.
If these steps do not have the desired effect, try to restart your Montblanc Summit 2 by pressing the crown button for 20-25 seconds while it is on the power adaptor.
Bluetooth
Does Montblanc Summit 2 have Bluetooth?
Yes, Montblanc Summit 2 uses Bluetooth to pair with your phone during setup and to stay connected with the phone.
However, the Bluetooth connection between phone and watch is made exclusively using the Wear OS by Google app.
Clasp function
How do I set up my strap and its clasp?

Compatibility Phone
Is my phone compatible with Montblanc Summit 2?
Montblanc Summit 2 is powered by Wear OS which works with iPhone (minimum requirement: iOS 9.3) and Android™ smartphones (minimum requirement: Android 4.4, excluding Go edition). To check if your phone is compatible, visit g.co/wearcheck with the browser on your phone.
Connectivity
How do I pair my watch with my phone for the first time?
Turn on your watch by long-pressing the crown button. On your phone, download and open the Wear OS app by Google and start the setup. Then, tap the name of the watch and follow the instructions to pair the watch with your phone.For further information, please visit the Wear OS website for additional support.
My watch does not stay connected to my phone.
Please note that your phone needs to be in range and the Wear OS app needs to be open (actively or in the background) on your phone. On your phone, turn the Bluetooth off and on and make sure that your watch is not in airplane mode.If you are still experiencing connectivity problems, please visit the Wear OS website for additional support.
I am experiencing problems to re-pair my watch to my phone.
If your watch no longer connects with your phone, please delete and re-install the Wear OS app.
- On Android phones: go into your phone's Bluetooth setting to remove Summit 2 from your phone’s saved device list. Then open the Wear OS by Google app and try to pair your watch again.
- On iPhones: go into your phone's Bluetooth setting to remove Summit 2 from your phone’s saved device list. Then do a factory reset of the watch via Settings > System > Disconnect and Reset. How can I connect my watch to Wi-Fi?
If you are an Android user, all saved Wi-Fi Networks will automatically be connected on the watch.
For iPhone users, this connection needs to be manually established. On the watch, swipe down from the top of the screen and access settings.
Scroll down and tap Connectivity > Wi-Fi > Add network. To enter a password, tap "Enter password on phone". When prompted, enter the password on your phone, and then tap connect.

Fitness
What options do I have to track my fitness?
You can measure your heart rate, active time, calories burnt, steps taken and distance covered using GPS. The Montblanc Fitness Coach app enables you to trace your Fitness goals and receive individual coaching to achieve your personal goals.
The Fit apps further complement your healthy lifestyle with challenges and the option to track your walks, runs, bike rides, strength training.
General
My watch does not turn on any more
It might be that the battery is empty, please do the following:
- Place the watch on the provided charger and connect it to a power outlet.
- Check that the power outlet provides a steady current of 500 mA and 5V.
- Make sure that you’ve removed all of the plastic packaging on your watch.
- Make sure that you are using the original charging cable, power adaptor and cradle/dock. Using a different cable or power adaptor may damage your watch.
- Make sure that the charging pins on the watch and cradle/dock are clean. You can wipe them with a slightly damp soft cloth.
- Check if there is any dust in the micro USB port. Blow on the port gently to remove any dust or dirt.
If these steps do not have the desired effect, try turning on your Montblanc Summit 2 by pressing the crown button for 20-25 seconds while it is on the power adaptor. Allow your watch to charge for 15 minutes, then try turning on the watch again.
Finally, try using a wall socket and repeat the previous step.

Google Assistant
Does Montblanc Summit 2 have voice command?
Yes. Montblanc Summit 2 has Google Assistant built-in. You can either hold down the power button, swipe to the right while being on your current watch face, or say "OK Google" (if enabled in the settings) to find answers and get things done even when your hands are full. Reply to a message, set a reminder, ask for directions, or ask for translations.
How do I activate the OK Google Function?
The Google Assistant can be activated in Settings > Personalization > enable 'Ok Google' detection.
Google Pay

GPS
How can I obtain GPS?
When connected to your phone, your Summit 2 obtains the GPS signal from the phone.
When the connection between the phone and the watch is disconnected, the watch will obtain a GPS signal on its own.
The initial signal fix may take several minutes. Please ensure that you have a clear line of sight of the sky. Large buildings, trees, and other obstacles might also complicate the connection. Finally, the watch must not be covered by a thick sleeve or similar objects.
How can I get a GPS signal?
Your Montblanc Summit 2 can acquire the GPS signal stand-alone or via the connected phone.
How accurate is the GPS position shown on the device?
When using Montblanc Summit 2, many factors can affect the accuracy of the position, distance, and speed readings that appear on the device. With a strong satellite signal, the GPS position reported by the watch should be accurate to about 3 meters or 10 feet. A weaker satellite signal may decrease that positional accuracy, in turn affecting the accuracy of the distance and speed readings that will be reported.
What steps can I take to minimize GPS inaccuracies caused by environmental factors and GPS drift?
When using your Montblanc Summit 2 in an area such as a densely wooded path or the middle of a city with tall buildings, you may experience a longer time for the device to acquire a satellite signal. Once you've received a satellite signal, you may also see a degraded performance with your GPS track as well as your running/walking pace.
Also, as GPS satellite signals pass through the atmosphere and interact with other environmental factors (such as trees, hills, mountains, buildings, cars, reflective surfaces and more), they can become distorted. In the past, this would often cause a loss of position altogether, but with modern GPS devices that have higher sensitivity receivers, only the weakest signal will prevent the device from locating your position. As a result, GPS drift can occur, causing the device to appear to be moving even though you are standing still.
To minimize these factors it is best to begin the satellite acquisition period when you still have a clear view of the sky, even if you are going to start the activity where the view is more limited. And, if you are going to be stationary for a while, pause the activity during that time to help limit the amount of inaccuracy introduced by GPS drift.
How-to-wear
Can I wear Montblanc Summit 2 on either wrist?
Montblanc Summit 2 can be worn on either wrist; the performance remains identical. Nonetheless, there is currently no designated mode for left-handed users.
HR monitor
Does Montblanc Summit 2 have a heart rate monitor?
Yes, at the back of the watch so that you can track your heart rate while performing sports and pursuing your fitness goals. For best performance, please make sure to have a proper fit between wrist and watch. Please also make sure to not cover the HRM with any other material such as the strap.
Music
Can I control or play music with the watch?
Yes, with your watch you can control all media currently playing on your phone.
Further, with the Google Play Music app, you can download music to be available even when offline. Montblanc Summit 2 has an internal memory of 8 GB which can be used to store music that can be streamed via Bluetooth to a wireless headphone or speaker. Notifications
I'm not receiving any notifications.
The notifications on Montblanc Summit 2 are mirrored from your phone and do not require additional setup or installing the respective app on the watch. Notifications can be managed on your phone in the Wear OS by Google app, Notifications section. Furthermore, the watch needs to be paired with your phone to receive notifications.Finally, phone and watch should not be in do not disturb mode. Straps
How can I change the straps?
With the watch facing down, slide the latch at the top of the strap towards the center. This will release the pin from the watch. To attach a strap, first, insert the pin on the opposite side. Then slide the latch towards the center and enter the pin in the second hole.
Are the Montblanc Summit 1 straps compatible with the Montblanc Summit 2?
Yes, the straps are compatible with both devices. Any 22mm strap will fit as well.
Timeshifter
How can I set up the Timeshifter App?
On your watch open the pre-installed Timeshifter app and create a jetlag plan. You will have to use your phone for that step.
- On your phone, download the Timeshifter app.
- Open the app and sign up with the same account as you are using on your Montblanc Summit 2.
- You can now create your first jetlag plan on your phone which will be shown on the Montblanc Summit 2.
Watchfaces
Does Montblanc Summit 2 come with different Montblanc watch faces?
Yes, there are various watch faces, which can be customized in color, style or complication. Complications can be personalized in many ways: date, battery usage, calendar, worldtimer, step tracker, order a ride and much more.
How can I customize my watchfaces?
Please long-press onto your current watch face and then tap on the settings icon. That way, you will see different options to customize that watch face.
How can I select another watchface?
To see an overview of other watch faces, long-press onto your current watch face.
Watch-only mode
What is the battery saver/watch only mode?
The battery saver is the mode that consumes the least amount of energy. To save power when your watch’s battery gets low, the Battery Saver will turn on automatically. You can also turn Battery Saver mode on or off at any time.
When the battery saver is activated, your watch will only show the time.
How do I manually activate the battery saver/watch only mode?
On your watch, open Settings and natigate to System > Battery and enable the Battery saver.
How do I deactivate the battery saver/watch only mode?
Press the crown button for 10-15 seconds or place the watch on a charger.
Water proof?
Is Montblanc Summit 2 water resistant/ water proof?
Yes, Montblanc Summit 2 is water resistant according to 5 ATM. This means that it withstands pressures equivalent to a depth of 50 meters. Please avoid scuba diving or high-speed watersports with the watch, as well as contact to pressurized water over 5 ATM as it can damage the wach.
The water resistance may be affected when dropping the watch or by exposing it to high pressure, temperature or humidity. Please also note that it is recommended to clean the watch with tap water after using it in salt water.
The charger and other accessories are not water resistant and must be kept away from water, humidity or any other liquids.
Wi-Fi
Does Montblanc Summit 2 have Wi-Fi?
Yes, you can connect your watch directly via Wi-Fi, this is recommended when downloading apps for example. A direct Wi-Fi connection is required if you are an iPhone user and want to use the Google Play™ Store and receive software updates.
Workout Coach
What is the Running Coach and how do I use it?
The Workout Coach evaluates your current fitness level, allows you to set targets, giving you an individual training plan, and allowing to monitor your progress.
How can I get a workout plan in the Running Coach App?
When you go into the app, you enter your details and set your target. You have the choice between: Improve your Health, Boost your Fitness, and Prepare for a Race.
You will then be directed to the "Workout Recommendation" screen which instructs you to do your first run to evaluate your current Fitness score.
After that, you will receive personalized information regarding your recommended workout routine.
